Ceramics Introduction to Handbuilding

This course allows beginners to develop an understanding of clay and practise handbuilding skills. Principle methods of hand-built ceramics will be introduced, including slab-building, press-moulding, pinching and coiling. Surface decoration techniques with slip and glaze application will also be covered. Students are encouraged to combine techniques and explore ceramic form.

Entry Requirements
The course is suitable for complete beginners as well as students who have some experience in the subject and wish to further improve and develop their skills.

Moving Forward
You could join Ceramics Mixed Ability, Ceramics Constructed or Surface Decoration.

The cost for materials for this course is £40 per term, however any additional enrolment in the same term is £30.
