Its sobering to read that the cases of domestic violence has surged since the start of the lockdown. Staying at home to tackle coronavirus and protect the NHS doesn’t mean you are alone - free and confidential help and support is available. Please read more below.

Information and support on domestic abuse.  All forms of domestic abuse, non-physical and physical, from an intimate partner or a family member, are unacceptable. You are not alone and help is available:

Greenwich Domestic Violence and Abuse Service is the main source of free help and information for people who live in the borough and are experiencing domestic abuse - call the GDVA helpline on 020 8317 8273, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 8pm.

The Her Centre provides free and confidential advice for women in areas such as health, legal advice, immigration or emergency housing - call 0203 260 7772.

 There's also a free 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247.

 In an emergency always call 999.
