Free Air Quality Alerts
Free air quality alerts sent straight to residents’ phones. (@Kevin Thorpe on for the Greenwich Learns News) Greenwich council has partnered with AirTEXT in order to send free alerts to residents when bad or polluted air is forecast.
The tool can be accessed via text, voicemail or email, and an air quality map is available across the UK.
Air pollution remains one of the largest environmental health hazards. The council hopes that this action will improve public health in the borough, especially amongst those with heart conditions, small children, and the elderly.
