Summer bank holiday highlights

Stuck for things to do over the August bank holiday? Here’s a few suggestions for places to visit in and around the borough during the long weekend: 

Friday 26 August, 1 to 7pm, Greenwich Fair - Greenwich + Docklands International Festival Family-friendly street arts, theatre, circus, installations, and dance take over the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College, Cutty Sark Gardens and Greenwich Park in GDIF’s much loved festival within a festival. All shows are FREE and unticketed. 

Friday 26 August, 11am to 5pm - LPF Kiddies Club – A Caribbean Twist Black History Month Celebration  Free fun community event promising African storytelling, dancing and drumming at The Nest, Cygnet Square, SE2 9UH. 

Sunday 27 and Monday 28 August - Notting Hill Carnival - W10 and W11, around Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove, Westbourne Grove, Westbourne Park and Kensal Road.

Join London’s biggest free party in the streets of Notting Hill to see elaborate floats and costumed performers wind their way through the streets in the carnival parade, dance to the sound of steel bands and calypso music and visit the tempting food stalls along the route.
