Thamesmead shortlisted for Government’s ‘New Towns’ programme

Thamesmead has been shortlisted as a potential ‘New Town’ by the government in an announcement made over the weekend. The riverside location is one of just 12 ‘New Towns’ the government is considering creating to help meet national housebuilding targets and its potential far exceeds the minimum target of at least 10,000 homes for each of the possible sites across the UK. Well done to all the teams involved including colleagues in Place & Growth.
